This year all of us in the Las Virgenes Unified School District have experienced many changes in the areas of curriculum and instruction as a result of the Common Core State Standards implementation.

We will be publishing a newsletter is to provide you with current information, suggestions, and ideas for supporting this implementation and upcoming events that will help and inform all of you as we continue to create classrooms and schools where these changes can impact student learning in a positive manner.
The expectations and learning demands of the Common Core State Standards are causing all of us to reflect on our practices. We will continue to provide quality education to our students in keeping with our tradition of excellence.

A link to the first edition of the newsletter will be posted on this site next week. It will include:
  • the most current information on the elementary mathematics and algebra adoptions;
  • the adoption of new World Languages programs; 
  • new 4th/5th grade science units aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards;
  • the on-going rollout of our one-to-one initiative;
  • news and ideas from the TOSAs;
  • upcoming professional development opportunities.
