CAASPP stands for California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress. This is the assessment battery that now replaces STAR. The state accountability assessment now includes the Smarter Balanced Assessments for ELA and Math grades 3 through 8 and grade 11, and Science (the CST Science tests used under STAR) grades 5, 8, and 10. Alternative tests will be available to Special Education students who meet the qualifications through their IEP. I have attached a Fact sheet about the components of CAASPP.
